The summer program aims to bring an opportunity to experience the cultural diversity and grandeur of fasting growing country in the world in one month. This program is not only an academic in-class learning experience but also a diversified field course. The program is a perfect balance among study, activities, visits and trips. While it is necessary to learn Chinese language and other subject courses in a classroom setting, our program helps you apply it to the everyday environment in China. We believe, "1,000 books read is equal to 1,000 miles traveled".

SWUFE welcomes international exchange students seeking to study at RIEM, SWUFE from our partner universities for a short time. Students need to be nominated by their home universities to attend our summer program. The summer program runs in July every year. RIEM offer three to five elective courses which will be taught by visiting professors from overseas universities. A 16 hour course is worth 1 credit, while a 32 hour course is worth 2 credits. Students can select one or two courses (in accordance with their home university’s requirements).

1. City tour to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

2. Cultural experience activities make dumplings

3. Cultural experience activities to learn calligraphy

4. City tour to Wide and Narrow Valley

5. One day trip to Leshan Giant Budha
